Summer in Bariloche

Summer in BarilocheThe southern hemisphere has the great advantage that the seasons are completely opposite to what most are used to north of the equator. High season runs from mid-December to early February, but most outdoor activities start in October when the temperatures are pleasant.

Bariloche is located in the Lake District in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.  It is known as the Gateway to Patagonia, which is known to many as one of the last great frontiers.  Enjoy mountain activities, like hiking, camping, or rock climbing; water activities, like white-water rafting, kayaks, canoes, and kitesurfing; flyfishing; and other adventure sports like canopy, horseback riding, and paragliding.  For more casual travelers, the scenic beauty of this enchanting place offers plenty of opportunities for photography, picnics, walks, and swimming in mountain lakes.

Bariloche is the largest city in the area, and is home to many cultural activities as well.  Theater, music, and live performances all year round attract visitors from all over the world.
